Downtown Golden Engagement on Clear CreekEngagement Session Details:

We love it when the dogs are invited to the engagement session.  For Chris and Megan they were looking for some variety in the engagement photos.   We ended up with going for the small town look of Golden, CO.  Spring caused a couple reschedules either due to rain or high winds.  As fun as it would be to have the wet dog feel or hair going sideways for some people it can be distracting so we would rather encourage finding another date.  We find the lack of distraction can help with the couple relaxing more.  For the two of them you could clearly see they were comfy snuggled up.  They certainly warmed up more as the shoot went on.  We started in Vanover Park and when down the Creek Creek trail area.  The favorite spot was likely getting out on the rocks in the middle of the creek.  The dogs seemed to like it as there was an escape artist moment to get back in the photos.  On the way back down stream there were some flowers blooming.  With so much variety in the locations we likely played more with different photographic elements like reflection, bokeh, motion blur, and barking at dogs to get their attention.  Okay – well the barking and treats did not really work for the dogs.  Probably the flash got the most attention but overall they were rather chill dogs.  Maybe they had a Coors beer in the back of the pickup on the way to the shoot?
