South Mesa Trailhead | Boulder
Late Season Fall Colors Engagement PicturesEngagement Session Details:
Mid to late October in Colorado finding some remaining Fall colors with a mountain view is challenging. For Allen and Emily we were able to find a spot just south of Boulder that had a view of the front range flatirons. They only have a few open slots together due to being separated by a 3 hour and 10 minute flight. We did the long distance in dating and engagement and so we certainly get how this looks. The upside to things is that only seeing each other once a month makes that time more precious and helps strengthen your communication.
Certain couples show that ‘you should get married’ side of them. As this was an engagement session obviously that is where things are going. You could see it in those little faces Emily would give Allen between moments and how they were relaxed and just enjoying time together. On the way there I had a bit of a ‘scare’ as it looked like the engagement session location was on fire. As unique as that would look and as much as we love adventure thankfully it was over the next ridge and the smoke subsided prior to the shoot. It was a controlled burn to clear out an area near the South Mesa Trailhead.
As you can tell the lighting was continually changing during the shoot. It gave for more variety in the images to have the mix of clouds and sun around sunset. If you like this location here are other shoots at the South Mesa Trailhead.
