Sapphire Point Overlook Wedding in OctoberWedding Details:

Mountains dusted with some snow with some fall colors is the perfect wedding day backdrop.  The fall color aspen trees are in the background past the mountain lake.  The mountains were well lit up from the full on sun day.  One thing we do different than others is have mountains show up in the background.  While this sounds counter intuitive its a lot of work in something many photographers are not comfortable – Lighting.  The day in the end in camera was how it actually looked.  Natural is in part it being what the day was naturally.

Natural is also getting that real you.  What is funny is when people think they are not good in photos.  If memory is correct they said they were kinda not good at photos.  Reality was they did great because they focused on enjoy each other rather then getting in their head or trying to do something fake.  In the end we direct and find that needed balance.  It is a balance of giving enough direction but getting those moments that let you relive how you felt.

We got some photos of their adorable dogs all dressed up.  Yes – Dogs can wear a tuxedo.  They did great with the motivation of some treats.  As a photographer packing treats as a standard in your camera bag is potentially comical.  It helps along with our ability to bark and meow.  The ceremony was gorgeous and simple.  Breck Mtn Wedding always does a superb job of making the day look amazing.  Shawna really adds tons of value to the wedding day.  We find people either go too far overstepping or do too little.  She just knows what needs to happen and its natural.  We highly recommend using her for the simplicity and excellence she brings every time.

After the ceremony the couple made it to Hearthstone in Breckenridge.  We were there for the cocktail hour start with appetizers. They followed that with some toasts.  We did the cake cutting there at the end.  Desert first is a great philosophy to life.  In this case it is more practical.  We have had the food at Hearthstone for a wedding we did there in the past.  It has been about 3 wedding receptions there to date.  The upper room works quite well for it.
