Sapphire Point Overlook Engagement | December
Winter Engagement Session at Sapphire PointEngagement Session Details:
Everyone seems to rave about the Engagement Session “Golden Hour”. The opposite seems to hold true for most that they say that mid day is the worst time for photos. During the Matt and Bari engagement session the topic did come up. Really for us it might be that we like less people around and that we have had to learn to shoot in the mid day lighting. We would rather have full sun that a hazy cloud look that often can come at sunset certain times of year in Colorado.
We think the industry struggles with the mid day so they push sunset. In Colorado many know the mid day is challenging. It leaves you struggling to get the background. When you get the background the couple is either blinded or has spotty light on their face. We overcome this with our less common use of lighting. As the background is kinda the point of getting photos in Colorado you then have people pushing for the best lighting to accommodate how they shoot.
The main idea is we love lighting and can do virtually any time of day. For them this was good because they were literally on a tight road trip and this time was the only one that fit in the schedule. With all the weddings that occur at Sapphire Point morning to mid day is really the only time you can have more predictable use of the full area. Industry wise people still want beauty but they are not wishing to fork out the price of a car for the wedding so places like this for an elopement are even more popular.
If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at Sapphire Point.
