It was a blue sky day in the mountains in Winter Park.  We believe these are the perfect days particularly in the winter.  The reason is that you have these white capped mountains and the blue makes them pop more.  Lighting wise it is a very different dynamic.  In this case we made an adjustment to try to focus on getting more mountains.  We also supplemented with some external light after the proposal.  Overall this helps to get more of the mountain background like what you saw in person.  While some of that can be done in post we find that it has to primarily done well in camera to get it best on the backend.

They were going out for some pre dinner drinks and this spot was just a random scenic spot along the way.  We love capturing these real raw moments.  They are times that pass so quickly.  Getting photos of them help you relive the feeling.  Like on a wedding day so much happens so quickly that without a photojournalistic style you would miss the real feeling.  We find there is a power in photography when done this way.

After the proposal we had what we may call a mini engagement session.  We find the emotion in this time after getting engaged is so much better.  The result is we functionally get as much in a proposal shoot as engagement sessions that are much longer.  We find it is more about what a couple brings more than the time alone.  In the end these kind of shoots give you those photos for sharing but also for whatever else you might prefer like save the dates.
