Proposal The Woods Restaurant | Denver
Rooftop Patio Proposal in Denver at a Restaurant for DinnerProposal Details:
It is crazy to think after having done over 650 proposals that this was the first in a restaurant. For Geoffrey and Emma it was the most natural route to surprise her and fit his vision. We had a different plan originally that would have been on the way to a place for dinner. The general take is that without the amount of experience and variety of lenses this would have been extremely difficult.
The desire was to use a rooftop patio with a mountain view. In the summer months when these are open you cannot privately rent them unless its outside business hours. The implication is that you will have others around. For an active restaurant setting this means people dining, servers moving, and things continually changing. The spot is certainly tight and getting the exact table will not really happen. We love low risk, highly preplanned proposals as they are more predictable. That kind of thing really is not possible.
The Woods Restaurant in the Source Hotel coordinated with him on the planning. The table he got was not the one communicated to us but rather behind it. It was a bit complicated to have a group of friends hiding out in a back room. A server did comically grumble a bit at serving 13 drinks to them all. Having once been a server it is a lot of work to deliver 13 individual bills. His plan was to get a drink then go to the bathroom and get the ring and a special menu he created. It was a huge surprise she did not see coming.
