Proposal Sapphire Point Trailhead | March
Snowy Mountain Proposal with a Sunset at the Sapphire Point TrailheadProposal Details:
The Colorado mountains are predictably unpredictable until you get out to the spot. For Bryce and Jessica this is kinda how the weather was for them. They had been snowboarding in Beaver Creek for their birthdays. His was the day prior and hers was that day. While snowboarding they would have sun before dropping into whiteout conditions. The sunset time is what they could do and so we went into the day with two different proposal plans.
There was a wedding planned there that night and our thought was upon seeing the snow perhaps they did it earlier in the day when it was sunny. Unfortunately the wedding showed up quite late in the middle of 4 fresh inches of snowfall. With the Overlook occupied with a wedding and our alternate spot covered in fresh snow it made it that we needed to go for ‘Plan C’. With the wedding and the snowy conditions less people would be on the start of the trail. For Sapphire Point this would be the most natural and work for any shoe conditions for your girlfriend.
This is a first for us to need to go this route to a 3rd on the fly plan but the guy executed it well understanding the vision of what we were needing. Ironically, minutes after the proposal the snow wrapped up and the sun came out. Shortly after that the wedding left as the sun was setting while clouds swirled around. All this made for variety in lighting coupled with our shooting with a little more diversity as she was a photographer and so likely has more specific tastes.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at the Sapphire Point Overlook or at in the area around Sapphire Point.
