Proposal | Sapphire Point Overlook | Winter | January
Colorado Proposal With Photos, Video, and ChampagneProposal Details:
Hidden for 16 minutes allowed for many raw candid emotional moments. For Jared and Michelle they were in Breckenridge, CO. It is a beautiful mountain location. Michelle commented at some point on the trip that they should get engagement photos there . . . and in the chronology of things this was before the proposal but long after he had set things up with us to capture the proposal.
As they got to Sapphire Point Overlook they took some selfies, talked about the frozen over Lake Dillon, and were playfully enjoying the snow blowing off the trees. In the video that was hidden in the trees it was clear to see the he had the plan down clearly in his head as he took her to the spot and adjusted to get the perfect angle. (Thank You!)
As he got down on his knee you could tell she was not expecting it to happen right then but clearly knew her response before he ever asked. Her response was ‘Oh my God – right now!? . . .What WHAT . . YES YES! Throughout the reaction period the most used word was ‘What’. . . We count 20. The runner up was Oh my God/Gosh at 11 uses which came after almost every looking down at the new ring on the finger.
After proposing he went over to the spot where the champagne was in the snow with champagne flutes. There are little playful moments that are just plain awesome like him asking ‘Are you surprised?’ and her response of ‘I am dying right now’. 9 Minutes in it hit her that ‘Babe, were engaged. You’re my fiancé.’ The moment when she looked down trail and saw a photographer taking photos was awesome.
As they had plenty of coverage him taking his time for the photographer to be seen was rather ideal as it allowed them to enjoy the champagne and for getting more candids. It makes for a long proposal video but as it captures all the layers of the emotion of just getting engaged we find it really romantic and special.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at the Sapphire Point Overlook.Something to note on this day at Sapphire Point is that is was this interesting mix of clouds covering the mountain background. There was yet some sunlight shining through the clouds with some light blowing snow.
