Proposal | Sapphire Point Overlook | Winter | Dillon
Proposal + “Oh My Gosh” = She Said YesProposal Details:
OMG! This was said about 1000 times? Well not really but nonetheless you can tell Jordan was just elated, surprised, and freaking happy! Aaron had been looking at places he wanted to propose and Sapphire Point was the choice place. We love Sapphire Point Overlook as it has a gorgeous view of snow capped Colorado mountains. The trail down to the overlook isn’t that far and traveled enough to keep the snow packed.
They were going to go skiing in Keystone. It sounded like dinner later was on the menu as she thought that is when it was going to occur. They already had the venue Taharaa Mountain Lodge booked so she knew it was going to happen. What better time than over a romantic meal Valentines Day weekend? Kudos to any guy that can still surprise a woman in this scenario! They went down to the overlook and ironically Jordan notices the target proposal spot marker. It was (in her words) a little campfire.
We have had a few guys miss the spot so we were likely going overboard by making an X in sticks and surrounding it with little rocks. When he got down on his knee you could tell she wasn’t buying the tie the shoe thing again yet this time he had a little white ring box. It took a half second before she realized it was more than a shoe tie kneel. During the proposal and response of ‘Oh My Gosh’ there was a bird that photobombed the proposal. Squirrels kept their distance. OMG they were playful and had fun.
We had made a snowshoed out path a few days before the proposal to pack down the snow so we could get down there without sinking in the feet of snow. As you will notice from the throwing snowballs and tacking each other the snow is soft but deep. As the story continues Copper Mountain was actually on the menu for skiing. The night capped off with a celebration party – OMG!
