Surprise Proposal on Snowy Colorado DayProposal Details:

You know its a good spot when you enter and say ‘Oh Dang!’  Patrick and Amanda were in Breckenridge for some snowboarding. There was hope for some sun rather than clouds but while we could hope for a ton of snow overnight and lots of sun in the day life doesn’t always play out that way.  The joy and energy from them lit up the area.  He had her spread her arms like she was about to jump off the cliff and fly from Sapphire Point over Lake Dillon.  This was to get her in position till he spun around and literally slid into the exact spot we marked off for the proposal.  She turned around seeing him on his knee with a ring box (that lit up inside – so fun!) and said “Oh my God . . Are you serious!? Oh my God YES! . . Of Course, Oh My God”.

As we had a hidden video of it in the tree we were able to get the exact wording.  The video captures the tone so much better so we will just say there was utter surprise, elated joy, and did we say surprise?  Even her getting a mani and pedi did not tip her off to something coming up.  After the proposal despite it being one of those days when you couldn’t see the mountains due to the incoming snow we had fun and they were ever so playful.

The perk I guess of this all is the next day there were 6 to 9 inches of powder to snowboard.  For us this just meant shooting it a little different as we did more layering of them in the middle of the pine trees laden with snow.  The other thing is we left the flash in the car as with a storm about to hit it wasn’t going to help.  To all those guys wondering what it looks like just before a snowstorm hits here is your example.
