Proposal | Sapphire Point Overlook | Spring | Dillon
Colorado Spring Snow Mountain ProposalProposal Details:
When you photograph enough proposals you see when there is something different about a couple. For Matt and Corene it is certainly the good kind of different. It was first noticed when getting to the spot how unaware of the surroundings she was when he started to tell her how he felt about her. While we would love to think we are super camouflaged in arctic white clothing in reality we are far away but still visible at Sapphire Point.
She was completely lost in the moments and looked to have butterflies in her stomach when he got down on one knee and proposed. There is also the hug afterward. When the feet leave the ground you know it is an ultra happy moment. There is also what makes them excited in the moment. Some women are excited about the ring – don’t get me wrong there was a ‘its so big’ comment – but really it seemed there was more excitement about the getting married and what that meant.
Matt had had a list of some plans for the day with dinner later. This gave her a good idea that it might occur sometime that day but likely later in the day. As we see it you want her to expect you to propose at some point. If she is completely surprised then you likely are doing it too soon. If your reading this and thinking of proposing you are likely a little late in her book if you are the normal guy so don’t worry!
It was a rather snowy day weekend. Normally, we would want to schedule it for a day that is clear of rain and snow. The reason is mainly that it will come between us and the couple causing potential for blur and streaks. The other side of things is that it makes for it being a cloudy day in the overall which cuts down on the view you get. Thankfully, we found a hole in there with only flurries making it possible to get crisp images.
One other unique thing about the day was the setup we did for them. Provided the setup isn’t crazy over the top we are generally good with you sending us some things you want to use for the proposal and us setting them up for you. In this case it was a wooden sign quoting I John 4:19 “We love because He first loved us” surrounded by mason jars wrapped with brown twine with Baby’s Breathe flowers inside. If your curious where the sign came from it was from Etsy.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at the Sapphire Point Overlook.
