Truly Hidden Photography of Proposal in MountainsSapphire Point Overlook Proposal Details:
When the girl has to look 3 times to be able to find the hidden photographer you know you are extremely hidden. For Tim and Hilary the benefit of this is mainly that it allowed for getting candid photos without interference. Having seen 14 other proposals to date this year the common (huge) difference is that everyone else is close and extremely visible. The result is that the whole proposal is measured in seconds and she often will turn to the camera rather quick. While that is perfectly fine what you miss is the authentic – never can get back – raw emotion that captures how she felt. We have been told these images have helped couples relive how it felt in the moment. Dare we say that it is not merely about getting the moment for some social media posting but rather to capture how she felt. Staged, replayed, or even proposals where you know you are on camera are never as good of getting the candid emotion as those without her knowing it.
The proposal started with her sensing his shaking as they took a selfie coupled with her noticing the bulge in his pocket. It was a clear YES. What is completely awesome and hilarious to us is that when he went to go grab the champagne and glasses he said “there is something else for us” and her first reaction was “Is there a photographer?” He said we were out there but then a minute later she starts to ask how the champagne got there and then she starts to say “where are you”. Ironically, she points at a bird over in the direction of the photos. Even better and completely an unrelated tangent a bird flies in and lands right next to the GoPro video that is rolling. The engagement pictures that followed the proposal were filled with this playful joy and gitty excitement at Sapphire Point. They also started to even plan their wedding which surprisingly was a first to have start in the photos after a proposal.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at the Sapphire Point Overlook.
