Proposal Sapphire Point Area | March
Spring Proposal with a Hidden PhotographerProposal Details:
It was a warm Spring day in Colorado. The perk forJameel and Lynsie is that this meant they could be comfortable without their coats. The downside is that the snow pack was soft and that things were melting. As you can tell they were able to get where they needed to go. This was the day they flew in from Chicago. We bumped it up due to a storm coming in followed by another later in the week. Realistically the one later in the week only impacted the mountains so there were some other options. The options were not as aligned to his vision, we were available, so well we could move it up.
As there was a storm coming in clouds came in before the precipitation. The result is one of those sunny and cloudy days. They are ideal for easy shooting but not as vibrant and full sun days. We recommend not getting too hung up on the weather specifically as it is something out of ones control. We note the conditions as they change how things look compared to some other shoots at the same location. Our take when considering a location like Sapphire Point you need to look at if it has the feel you are doing for more than the specific coloring.
We had a very specific spot picked out for the proposal. We always are seeking precision but when doing video the need is much more significant. For this location we run some redundancy and go wide. The main thing with video is that you want to be closers as we cannot mic you up without there being some risk of audio issues. As you can see from the video below the external mic does its job well in capturing the audio. They were a little too far right so not ideal behind a small tree but we nonetheless got it from both a photo and video perspective.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at the Sapphire Point Overlook or at in the area around Sapphire Point.
