Proposal | Pass Lake
Above Treeline Proposal on Loveland Pass at Pass LakeProposal Details:
New locations are always a hard find for proposals as we shoot at a distance to get more candid imagery. This allows us to not interfere in the moment. The balance of a place being natural to go, scenic and not crazy busy is hard to balance with being hidden away. While all this might sound like this spot is a natural winner I think it is not as popular for photos because it is a rough lighting place above treelike up on Loveland Pass. It is really one of those places that works well for the midday lighting for how we shoot. The sunrise will be to one side and the sunset to another side.
Most photographers will really struggle in the mid day light. We use off camera lighting so it is very doable if not preferred for this spot. For this shoot we did it around sunset. At the time we shot it is was progressively changing. As you can see the view is pretty epic and we shot on the other side of the lake from the couple. Now all this sounds pretty good so what is the catch? Well as this is above treeline the winter will come early. As you get into winter the accessibly will be a variable.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at Loveland Pass.
