Proposal | Lost Gulch Overlook | Fall | Boulder
Birthday Weekend Surprise Proposal in ColoradoProposal Details:
This trip to Colorado was full of surprises. For Curtis and Marlee the noteworthy surprise was getting engaged! It was one of those weekends that looking back at you can see how there were little clues. Things like him encouraging her to get her nails done. Her mom saying a couple times to keep her updated. The slightly different pulse as he talked to her about how he felt. The using her first and last name. There was a bigger plan and layering of surprises than what we were in the loop on. It was one of those weekend when you think your going to L.A. but then you find out at 4AM before you leave that it actually is to Colorado. It was a birthday weekend trip so anything goes.
For the night of the proposal they were going to do dinner at the Flagstaff House. It is the kind of place that has a dress code so hence the bow tie and the dress were elected for this event. We used Find My Friends to track them on the way up. It was a Friday and there were many CU students around. Most go back further on the rocks beyond where they went. We could tell the spot didn’t seem right for them as he was looking at his phone and looking at some different spots.
Overall, we are just thankful he didn’t go any further as we wouldn’t have had any shot of the proposal and there likely would have been someone else nearby. Once he started to talk to her she was in a whole different world lost in the moment. That is a sure sign of the eagerness and hopefulness of what she thinks is about to come. After the proposal there were some cheers from others further up and back on the rocks. One minor thing we loves seeing was the foot that raised up in the kiss after the proposal YES. Gitty and playful is how we would describe the rest of the shoot.
You can get weekend trip proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page.If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at Lost Gulch Overlook on Flagstaff Mountain. One thing to note for this proposal is that this is not the ideal spot for this Lost Gulch Overlook location. There will be people in the background and you miss the layering with a mountain background. It is also highly likely that if you try to go to this spot you will be off or we won’t get an angle. While it is our job to get that moment we also believe in providing low risk and highly detailed planned proposals. So while it worked out please look at the other proposals if you like what you see here.
