Proposal | Long Lake | August
Mountain Lake Better than the Maroon Bells for ProposalsProposal Details:
Take that Maroon Bells! Okay . . . well maybe we should describe why we think Long Lake is better than Maroon Lake. Using William and Tessa as an example you will see in these photos there was no one around. It is not that we photoshopped people out but rather the only person around was someone in the back of the lake on a kayak. This made it so that things were super quiet and private. Almost everyone wants secluded AND all the big mountains with a lake but we think they do not realize how busy a place like the Maroon Bells actually is until they get there on the bus load of people. So as you might guess it had the in the middle of no where feel to it. This makes the plan a little more complicated because there is not a big wide path with signs saying ‘go here’. We have a lot of detail in our proposal plan and even tweaked things a bit to make it even more clear for this time. We have had some rock stepping stones we added due to a wet spot so there is certainly some intentionality.
For the proposal he had mailed us a black notebook. We did not go through it but it seems that it was something they both had wrote in and shared between the two of them. We had placed it at the proposal spot in a bush as if someone had dropped it. This helped be a marker of where to go for the proposal. I am thinking something additional was written in there related to the proposal but again I am not sure. Clearly it was a YES and she was all for taking the rose gold ring with a diamond on it. Weather wise there were some clouds in the area but no rain. We had about 2 minutes of sun at the sunset time and made the most of it. What we loved in this shoot is how natural they are with each other and how they had a lot of playfulness shared between them. It looks like it was the norm for them as they demonstrated some ‘pro cuddling’ positions.
Long Lake is in the Brainard Lake Recreation Area and one of the couple mountain lakes. If you like the look of this location here are some other shoots at Long Lake. You can get proposal ideas such as this mountain lake spot from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page.
