Weekend Anniversary Trip Proposal in DenverEngagement Proposal Details:

We believe Sara was genuinely surprised, elated, and unaware at Dan’s proposal.  She knew something was a little different due to splurging on a nice dinner.  As any perceptive woman she picked up on the nervous vibes.  Their 4 year anniversary is Labor Day and so a weekend trip to celebrate is fitting.  Dan was looking at a number of places, ideas, options.  You can tell he put some planning into it as he had a friend of Sara’s go get a manicure with her before coming as a graduation present girls time out.

Going out to dinner that is at a really nice place is a good reason to get dressed up.  We had provided Dan a plan for where to go, how to stand, and some key tips to pull it off and get the best photography.  There were some storms passing through the Denver area but we lucked out that they just made for some dimmer light and moody clouds.  It was a little later but the sun was still out when we started.  It might have been the high heels but when he got down on one knee she fell back a step with the mix of joy and surprise.

The people out on the Patio of Bistro Vendome cheered when they hugged and kissed.  One group offered to buy them champagne!  The reaction of putting things together ‘this means were getting married’ was so cute!  We had some fun using the string lights out on Larimer Square for some photos afterward.  We wrapped up while they started to call family over some champagne!

A couple notes for guys looking at this and thinking you want to propose after dinner and capture the night lights.  We love night photography.  One thing to keep as a word of caution is that we need light out while you propose so that we aren’t distracting her with the use of flash.  Before dinner and before sunset is the best time.  This allows you to celebrate over dinner and have a more predictable start time.
