Lost in the moment of what is happening you can miss some of the details.  For Gary and Monica the proposal was this beautiful culmination of what had been brewing over 4 years in their lives.  Softly in the background from Bistro Vendome you could hear the song ‘A Thousand Years’.  While we are not ones to normally quote songs we found it ironically descriptive of the feel of the moment.  Verse two reads ‘Time stands still.  Beauty in all she is. I will be brave. I will not let anything take away what’s standing in front of me. Every breath, every hour has come to this. One step closer.’

We talk with a lot of guys about proposals and his passion for her was at a whole different level.  Gary has this emphatic joy and exuberant confidence in Monica which is quite rare to see.  Plain and simple he just wants her in his life.  Hearing a little of the back story on them dating for 26 months then taking a break due to him not being ready just makes things all the more vivid and beautiful.  To fill in some details on the weekend rumor has it there were two dresses.  One was for the Adele concert the night before at the Pepsi center and the other for the proposal.

They spent some time talking through a trip to Rome at Starbucks before the proposal.  They then made their way to Bistro Vendome for dinner.  He took his time proposing which we love cause it lets us adjust as needed and well brings out more emotion.  Getting down on one knee made her squirm with kitty delight and surprise. She said Yeah and Yes!  She then followed that with some tears, kissing, and more tears.  Following that we played chicken with some cars in the road.  At this point a random person supplied us with some balloons.

On the agenda for the night there was some laughter with comedian Nancy Norton at Comedy Works following by a late night bar.  I think Corridor 44 was the choice place but nonetheless you get the idea of the night.  One step closer.
