Proposal | Independence Pass | Aspen
Sunrise Mountaintop Proposal Outside AspenProposal Details:
All the view without the mountain hike. I am not sure I have ever had the proposal plan change this many times for a given proposal. They were coming out from California and it was her idea to come see the fall colors. Things in most places hit their peak a little earlier this year than normal. We had talked of a couple places closer to Denver. We had one on the calendar until there was a change of plans for their trip getting them out to Aspen for the majority of the trip. We had 3 weddings that weekend so were a bit limited in our options. It was between this location and the Maroon Bells. While the Maroon Bells look awesome and certainly have the fall colors they have become more restrictive this year. You had to take a bus into the location already. That bus runs from 8-5 during the main seasons of access. Outside of that there is now this roping off of the lake to prevent erosion from foot traffic. The implication is the 50-250 people there will now be more condensed making proposals much more difficult. At sunrise here there was a guy flying a drone but no one else around making for a more secluded feel. If you love this location and the look of it know that this mountain pass is only open in the summer months and early fall season due to snow. Even though you may come from 90 degree weather there could be snow up there any time of year.
