Colorado Mountain Proposal . . . With Cute BootsProposal Details:
Going for a ‘hike’ is a good reason to by cute boots – Right? For Justin and Chelsea the venture into the mountains started with a scenic Lyft ride. We saw how scenic a route they took as we were tracking each other through Find My Friends. From downtown they went into a residential neighborhood past a lake then over to Golden and up to Boulder. Based on the route we surmised that maybe they both were not on vacation from Florida and perhaps she was staying somewhere else. It seems the ride sharing guy was just jacking up the rates. The scenic tour dropped them off on Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder at Lost Gulch Overlook.
They walked out toward the overlook area to see the view. You could tell he was a man on mission as once he got to the spot he was inviting her over for a photo. Kneeling down while she looked off at the white snow capped mountains he reached for the ring in the backpack rather than the camera. When she turned around she found him on one knee with a ring. There was this playfulness blended up with some curiosity and excitement in her voice as she asked ‘What are you doing’!? As he started to propose she took a step toward him as she brushed her hair back out of her face. Thank you! . . . says the photographer you did not know was taking your photo!
Maybe there were a lot of questions or just a reaffirmation of the YES but we think she said YES about 4 times with some head nod body language. The left hand was put forth for the ring then it was put on the right hand. Her review of the ring is “It is so pretty . . . it is beautiful!” There was this happy surprise at hearing there was a hidden photographer there capturing it all. After the proposal we went out on the rocks and in the surrounding area for some additional photos. The wind really picked up around the time of the proposal but we were still able to work with that and the sun to get the photos. Afterward we shuttled them back down to Boulder on our way back home so they could go find a bottle of champagne to crack open and celebrate.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at Lost Gulch Overlook on Flagstaff Mountain.
