Proposal | Deer Mountain Trailhead | Estes Park
Colorado Mountain Winter RMNP ProposalProposal Details:
It is hard to have any complaint on the view with big snow capped mountains in the background. Cameron and Basia came up from Colorado Springs for a winter break getaway that included some time at Della Terra. It is a really romantic place that was essentially built for weddings and is regularly improved to do what was already excellent even better. If you are considering it for the wedding venue note they are likely the most busy wedding venue in Colorado so get your spot sooner than later. This is about the proposal so back on subject . . . They are getting married! It was an easy YES with a couple are you for reals in there. The spot we used was over at the Deer Mountains Trailhead in RMNP.
We find it is ideal for our hidden photographer style of shooting proposals as it is flat and open with an awesome view all around a short walk from a car. There are not a lot of people that will hang around there but yet it is natural to go to the spot. Even better unless there has been a huge snow it is accessible all year. All that to say it is an ideal spot. We shot it using 200mm and 300mm lenses. With the angles to get the mountain view this means we need to shoot a little bit wider and then use the 300 to get in there more. Nonetheless with the huge files of the DSLRs you can get in there and see all the emotion. What was unique and that was quite fun to see was the when hearing of a photographer the hands went out as her nails were not done. Our take is when you have this gorgeous mountain background you do not need to shoot super up close so nails are not a huge deal.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using Rocky Mountain National Park here are some of the other shoots we have done at Rocky Mountain National Park.
