Pack Your Bag – Colorado Proposal WeekendProposal Details:

You thought the weekend was open but you find out you need to pack your bag.  We are not sure how much info Emma got from John before getting to the airport gate in San Francisco.  It might have been one of those surprises as they went down the highway were she wondered if they were going to Napa Valley, some other city in CA, or somewhere like the airport.  As you can tell by her clothing she was thinking something nice was about to happen as she had the high heels and gorgeous dress.

They landed in Denver.  The rental car of choice was a white Chevrolet Corvette.  While they likely didn’t push is hard through the turns they certainly had a good road to take it out on in the Colorado mountains.  When they arrived the huge bouquet of roses came out.  There are a couple of ways to do a proposal.  One is the stealthy didn’t see it coming which works for many women and is what most guys seek.  The other side of things is to do the long emotion build of going all out.  If you go this route you need to know the only surprise would be the when it occurs.

We have had a number of guys do weekend trips some at a completely surprise thing where she packs a bag not knowing where she is going.  If you want the proposal to be a surprise you would need to make sure this kind of thing is fully normally.  When asking her if she saw it coming the impression we got was that of course but it was completely awesome.

A couple notes on the Brainard Lake location.  It is a high elevation mountain lake with 13ers in view in the background.  In the fall the light comes at a slightly different angle and the water level is a few feet lower than earlier in the year when the snow is melting.  On a weekend like this one of being when there are fall colors in the mountains there can be more traffic.  It seems like on the winding mountain roads someone always wants to go 10 under the speed limit.  We say that to say factoring in some more time will always help if you are going to enjoy the yellow Aspen leaves changing colors.
