Proposal | Brainard Lake Overlook | Fall
Proposal at an Overlook of Brainard LakeProposal Details:
Brainard Lake is not really a new spot for us. Using this spot for a proposal however was a first for us. We start with this to encourage your not getting confused by the similar naming. Technically we think it is called ‘Brainard Lake Overlook‘ as there is some brown sign that says that nearby but overall like most mountain places things will vary. For Brandon and Mayson they were planning to drive in for some kind of picnic.
We were able to get it after waiting in line but it ended up that with the lower capacity for 2020 and the time of day it made it so that they walked in from the winter lot area. If anything this made it more natural to go to this spot as when you walk in you pass this spot. We changed it up as not too long before that we had showed up on a similar day to find 3 mini weddings happening there around the area we normally would use. As you cannot trump the plans of a woman in a white dress you just need to avoid the area.
As they came up he casually dropped her sweater in a spot that wouldn’t show up in photos. From there he nailed the spot and the angles perfectly. She did not see that one coming and with the distance we were at we could get photos without being spotted. We had some champagne and glasses left for them for toasting the celebration. From there is was a bit of the drinking game where you take some photos and sip some champagne. You likely cannot tell but the wind was kinda crazy that day so we bailed to some forest area to have some more fun with posing.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at Brainard Lake. Here is the work at the Brainard Lake Overlook area.
