Lower Lake Ranch Wedding | Pine
Mountain Wedding with Emotion and Local BeerWedding Details:
We love shooting in the Colorado Mountains. For Jesse and Alyssa they got the standard mix of mountain beauty sprinkled with some afternoon storms. We say it is standard because there are very few weddings we shoot that seem to not have the 15 to 30 minute interruption of afternoon showers. Is it that we do a rain dance or that we are those people that clouds follow – not really but rather it is just one of the predicable things. Telling people there is a 100% chance of rain daily in the Colorado mountains somewhere is fairly accurate. What you can also predict is that there will follow cool looking clouds with the storms.
We had a slight delay at the start due to some off and on showers so we needed to switch things up so that couple photos and the bridal party photos would need to be done post ceremony. The impact for them is that they lost 30 minutes of cocktail hour and for us it just meant we had to work a little faster. When we got there the guys were arriving and getting ready in what we will call the love shack. We say that due to the feel of the room and the heart shaped red tub. I am not sure a heart shape is function for a cuddly suds soak but nonetheless it looks cool.
The women arrived from the Salon and things began to show up. The first look was a bit delayed due to some rain that came but we got it in along with a few photos before another shower rolled over the mountains. By the time of the ceremony the sun was out for the rest of the night. Like the most of the day it was customized to focus on the important things and make it their own.
The ceremony had laughter, tears, and long sentences to repeat. After the ceremony we did some family photos and some photos over by the barn where we were stalked by some deer and really just had some fun. The reception room was gorgeous with the paper globes hanging down in the room. They had tables setup by favorite craft breweries in Colorado. The table seating sign were windows with names written on them. Beer and cocktails flowed. You know it will be a party when you see someone using a flask to fill up a cup. There was a little episode using a electric wheel chair and some festive dancing moves.
Lower Lake Ranch / Mountain View Ranch Review:
Since we shot this wedding the venue management has changed to Wedgewood Weddings and the venue is now Mountain View Ranch. From what we hear the owner still owns the land and the venue is the same but the wedding business was handed off to a company that runs many Colorado venues. The location is a gorgeous mountain landscape. It is nestled in the front range foothills. The road to the location basically will end at the ranch.
While the property is awesome with mountains surround the valley it is nestled in it seems there are a couple things to make note of about the location. Probably the most significant is that the signage is not helpful and Google Maps will take you to the office rather than the venue. I think this happens a lot from seeing where most of the cars went upon coming to the venue. They also have signs noting it is private property and not a State Park so I think they get confusion about the location frequently. While you get to the correct general area it can cause some confusion without additional signage which is an extremely easy fix.
The other thing a little challenging about the location is that there is poor cellular reception so it makes coordinating people a little more challenging. There were some dead spots in there and if anything else just something to note. Signage and cell reception are easily overcome and we think they are not hinderances to this being a gorgeous mountain wedding venue. If you are looking at one of the Wedgewood venues here are some other weddings we have done at one of the Wedgewood Wedding venues.
