Long Lake Proposal

Featured Proposal, Mountain Engagement, Proposals

Proposal with Mountains + Lake + No People

Proposal Details:

No people might be a stretch as there was a photographer rustling in the bushes pretending to be a wild animal.  Saul and Priscilla had done a morning hike that day in Golden.  After getting cleaned up they were going back out for some getting some photos at a lake a friend recommended.  They stopped at Brainard Lake and then went over to Long Lake.  Long Lake is 1/4 mile hike in to as the name might imply a long lake.  Parking can be a little challenging particularly on the weekends so it is best to do a weekday like they did.  From the parking lot it is a 15 minute walk into the spot we like to use has a beach front.  It is a bit more secluded there yet still natural to wander upon.  They showed up and made their way down to the area.  They had some champagne which he noticed camouflaged with grass in a bush.  This helped him move over to the exact spot for the proposal.  The short way of saying it was she did not see it coming but saw some things that were a little weird.  Things like mom wanting to help with some clothes to pack, mom having a gift card to have a girls day to get their nails done, his dressing a little more nice and just acting slightly different.  Surprised is best illustrated by the word ‘WHAT’.  What continued as the surprise rolled on with things like the champagne and glasses being pulled out of a bush and the finding out there was a photographer there for them.  Really we think it was just the rapid fire level of surprise on top of the huge life changing surprise of the getting engaged.  From there we took some more photos.  They have this natural chemistry and playfulness in their interaction.  They just fit well in each others arms and know how to snuggle together.

As you might guess from the title Long Lake is what a lot of guys are looking for with a mountain view, lake, and no one around.  It is in the Brainard Lake Recreation Area and one of the couple mountain lakes.   If you like the look of this location here are some other shoots at Long Lake.  You can see more proposals here and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page.
