Donovan Pavilion Wedding | Fall | Vail
Fall Wedding in Vail ColoradoWedding Details:
The fall season in Colorado comes and goes very quickly and will vary in its look year to year. For Chris and Megan they had a good splash of the fall colors and cooler feel in the air for their wedding in Vail. They were likely a week off from what would be the peak of fall colors for the aspen trees directly behind the ceremony site. Those kind of things are hard to forecast to an exact date far in advance so if you are reading this looking for the date a set of trees will change color know you will only find speculation. Last year it was at its peak in Vail and this year things had been on the initial start for changing over. Regardless of not having the perfect yellow leaves directly behind the outdoor ceremony spot there was a good party, good emotion, and an overall chill wedding day.
We started around the corner from the Donavan Pavilion in a rental home. The final touches of hair and makeup were underway at that point. Getting over the guys down the road they were pretty much all together by the time we got there. This is rather normal as it takes a few minutes to get ready. At that point in the day cigars were being distributed and a few bottles were being polished off while some football played in the background. Making it back over to the rental home we had a first touch. We do not do many of these so suggested having some fun were they have a first booty grab of the day. We followed that playfulness with a more emotional reading of letters to each other. Afterward it was us going over to the venue for the start of the setup.
The ceremony was on the back patio followed by some photos out in the trees nearby and down at Gore Creek. As awesome as the heels were our providing a reason to take them off was gladly accepted. This was to hop along the rocks out into the creek bed for a different look for photos. There were some toasts after a scrumptious dinner followed by some dances to kick off the night. Cigars were smoked, beer was consumed, and Grandma did some dancing. It was the second time this summer we have had their DJ Hampton Entertainment. Courtney is awesome and brings a solid blending of the music and good reading of the crowd to keep a party going. Often it can feel like you just have someone playing songs and not really getting the mixing of the music together into one unified flow for a party.
