Museum of Nature and Science WeddingWedding Details:

How many times in a wedding ceremony will you hear “I now pronounce you husband and wife . . again”. For Phil and Erin we had photographed the mini wedding downtown Denver the year prior and this was the party part of the wedding.  It was the off season for wedding venues so they saved quite a bit than doing it in the peak season.  The party was at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Overall the day would be as you would expect from a couple already married – less traditional.

For those not familiar with the venue it is on the glass wall side facing City Park.  On the first floor there was the reception dinner space, second floor was dancing, third floor had some getting ready photos for the women, and on the top there was the ceremony and cocktail hour.

One unique thing for us was getting a ‘vendor table’ setup for dinner.  While that may not sound unique to give all people a place to eat essentially this turned into a small table at the top of the room that looked like the Bride + Groom dinner table.  Comically people thought it was seating for them and likely whoever setup the venue likely thought of it like that as well.  Regardless the point is while so many do that kind of thing we will say it feels really isolated.  We did not do that kind of thing on our wedding day but sitting with our guests would be overall a much better route to go.

Denver Museum of Nature and Science Review:

The view of the Denver skyline with the sunset over the mountains is rather epic.  Your guests will love the space and it will make for a great party.  No matter what floor you are on there will be a great view as the building has a glass wall facing the mountains.  From the perspective of a vendor we felt a little vulnerable with our equipment as pretty much anyone could come into the building through the normal entrance and have the ability to go wherever in the space.

With the different floors this means you are never fully with your belongings which makes us thankful for having locking bags.  While this is not the norm there was an event happening in City Park the next day so we were rather limited in where we could do photos.  Normally this would not be the case which would have given us more variety in the imagery.  In terms of getting ready space the women had a good place for the final details whereas the guys were in the Atrium (lobby).
