Denver Courthouse Wedding
Denver Courthouse Wedding + Art Museum
Wedding Details:
The Denver Courthouse (Denver County Court) has been a fairly popular place for married. It is close to where a lot of people live and makes for a simple choice for a little wedding. While most are not running off into the night to get married couples functionally use it for elopements. This saves a lot of cost and is typically fairly flexible. We find couples will do things a ton of different ways. We have done ceremonies in the courtrooms, in other buildings, on the steps, or just photos skipping the ceremony part like with this one. We believe in a couple making the day their own versus checking all the boxes the normal cultural wedding might mandate.
We started inside in the stone hallway walls. We are not an expert of the type but are they marble? Whenever we have been in there it feels fairly empty and hallow. The outside steps are quite nice with the massive stone columns. The steps are scattered with people every now and then but make for great photos. In the distance there is the capitol building with a part between you and it. While there are many events in there are people camping out we have also found some nice spots if you want some greenery a short walk from the building.
In the Denver Art Museum a mini photo session occurred. There are some additional rules and regulations there like no flash due to the artwork. Since most photographers do not know how to use flashes that is likely not an issue but in dim lit scenarios with lesser equipment it could be an issue. It was midday with a f1.2 lens on the latest pro level cameras so it was not an issue. We used some of the circular stairs and took some in the galleries to fit their vision for the shoot.
