Brainard Lake | Engagement | July
July Brainard Lake Engagement SessionEngagement Session Details:
Things change quickly with the mountain weather. For Mitchell and Jessica they were not sure they would get the ideal weather for the engagement session at Brainard Lake. A thunderstorm had passed through not too long before their engagement session started. This made for some patchy clouds leftover in the area. As the shoot progressed we had the sun open up which really can change the look of things. There was virtually no wind so things were rather calm. There was however a limitation in that there was a hiker up on the Issabella Glacier that had slipped and fallen some 400 feet down. Our guess is they slid most of that distance then went off a small cliff into rugged terrain or they were roped in and a knot randomly occurred as they were going down breaking their fall. Either way this made for limited locations we could go because of the flight for life helicopter landing in the field nearby. This also made for helicopters in the background. For most of the time it was just the flight for life flying a team in but near the end the Blackhawk with a national guard team came. We had the sun with the gorgeous still water making for ideal reflection shots in the water. Those have been some of the favorites when getting to shoot up there.
If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at Brainard Lake.
