Outdoor Colorado Mountain Boudoir at Long LakeBoudoir Session Details:
When you have the unpopulated beauty of the Colorado mountains it doesn’t get much better for an outdoor boudoir shoot. From seeing a lot of boudoir photography over the years we knew it could be fun and offer a whole new level to the session to do it in the middle of no where. We weren’t completely sure how it would go but everything turned out perfect from the slightly cool fresh air, to the amazing mountain backdrop, to a adventurous bride who was up for it all.
We could not have asked for a better day. When we first started talking to Carlee about her wedding plans she mentioned she wanted to do a boudoir session. We had been targeting the wedding day but floated the idea out there for doing it the day of their engagement session at Brainard Lake. C was totally up for it which makes a photographers job more fun and easier. We love it when a client is excited about the shoot and the mountains and just has a great time with it all!
We started the shoot by walking about a half a mile down to Long Lake where wardrobe options were chosen. The first and main outfit consisted of some new stylish boots, some cute cut off shorts, and a sexy black bralette to fit the Colorado mountain setting. She rocked the outfit in a location that was no less that breathtaking. With a little breeze in the warm sun there was an alluring nature to her hair in the pictures.
The shoot consisted of some dramatic high key wide angle shots to capture the mountains in the background. We also went for some softer intimate close up shots. During the shoot we moved down to the lake where she changed into a black lace string cheekini panty along with the bralette. We captured some beautiful images there before heading back barefoot in the mud to get to the woods for some final images.
While in the woods we chose to go with a gray faux fur vest with along the cheekini black panties. It was great fit for a woodsy environment. The shoot was an amazing experience and one that was freeing, had amazing lighting, and an awesome view. This kind of boudoir is in a class of its own that works in Colorado. We call it ‘Adventurous Boudoir’.
Why Long Lake? Well it is over 10k up in elevation and has good parking for you to drive up to the area. It is a flat stroll to an area slightly off trail that has an awesome view of 13ers with a lake in the foreground. We picked it because of the view but also because its isolated from most hikers so rather private. You never know when a grandma could stroll by up the hill but at least you know its not your grandma.
