AA Barn Wedding | Grand Lake
The AA Barn is ideal for small outdoor mountain weddingsWedding Details:
Jason and Shannon love Grand Lake Colorado! They were engaged on the other side of the lake, did there engagement session at the East Inlet Trail in Grand Lake, and now their wedding at the AA Barn. The wedding was made up of close friends and family who had been spending lots of time together. Of the 54 wedding attendees 52 were there for the rehearsal to celebrate with them. Lunch was provided by Smokin Moes. It was beautiful to see Jason and Shannon’s love and get to know them over the past year!
(Double) AA Barn Venue Review:
The AA Barn is the ideal place for a rustic mountain wedding under 100 people focused on celebrating with friends. You can rent the AA Barn in Grand Lake for $100. It is two stories and the upstairs is closed off. The main floor has room for some tables and has a closet. It is a very clean rustic wood interior. Outside there is a nearby stream that in June was about to overflow its banks.
To get to the AA Barn you drive to Grand Lake, Colorado. Turn east on CR 66 and drive till the road ends. We find this comical but if you know the area or are good at picking out road signs its really quite easy to find. They had a sign pointing to the AA Barn from off the main road.
Lighting Notes:
There really is not any shade at this location so going into the day you will need a photographer than can control lighting. They were married at 10:00 AM and there was no shade covering at the AA Barn in the back field were the ceremony was held. This meant that we needed to use some flashes in the ceremony.
We did a family shot of 54 people which would have been rather impossible to get without more powerful flashes than the common speed lights. For the couples time with Jason and Shannon it was about 12:30 and the sun was vibrantly bright. We were shooting with our soft box up 6 stops to get the right amount of fill to overpower the sun. I shoot like this a lot but normally at sunset to get the vibrant but natural feel of the night.
