Have Parents Fly in For the ProposalEngagement Proposal Details:

Kellan’s proposal was like a 3 layered Cake of surprises.  The obvious is the engagement ring.  Rumor has it the unique ring was obtained in Hawaii.  Another layer to things was having a hidden photographer with a telephoto lens stalking them via the Find My Friends app.  It was hardly stalking but just a good way to see where they were without texting / calling.  Kellan and Elizabeth were meeting up for brunch with his parents.

They were going to check out the old University of Colorado CU Boulder campus.  Entering over by Varsity Lake they stopped and he got down on one knee and proposed.  His parents (also stalking them through Find My Friends) came up to congratulate them!  Next layer of surprise was her parents flying in from California!  Now this communicates the closeness of family wanting to be there, sweetness of Kellan coordinating it, and bonus points for making it meaningful.
