Mount Falcon Park Winter | Morrison
Chill Your Champagne in SnowEngagement Details:
Matt and Mary were in Colorado for Christmas which made for a perfect time to do an engagement shoot for them! We chose Mount Falcon Park as it is just outside of Denver in the mountain foothills. It has some open space, nearby mountains, and with the 6-8 inches of snow the day prior a magical fairy tale feel to it. The pine trees were laden with snow and the wind would occasionally sprinkle flakes into the air. We left from the West Parking lot and considered we could have brought the snow shoes. We left our pair at home. Matt and Mary left theirs in Manhattan. (Joe gets this as he once had crampons and an ice axe in Ohio.) I think the more practical thing would have been a sled although snow shoes are quite fun!
We started slightly off trail then made our way up a hillside. There was some slipping and laughing along the way with the occasional dip in the snow. We love how the snow sparkled in the background as it blowed around. With the sun overall the day was warm despite it being 22. There was a champagne toast up on the top of the hill including some laughter upon realizing it was a screw top champagne and all the fun of popping a cork was lost. We love how natural they look in each others arms! We are excited for the wedding in July!
Here are more mountain engagement sessions on the blog. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at Mount Falcon Park.
