Twin Lakes Wedding | Summer
Mini Wedding at Twin Lakes in the Colorado MountainsWedding Details:
Over time we have realized we do a lot more than just photography. We think the reality is that to some degree when it comes to a small wedding photographers do more than photography. What we are seeing though are couples come to us with expectations set by other photographers. We have observed people upsell with buzzwords but in reality they have not been out there enough doing it to really add value. The result is that couples come to us often thinking they have a lot to figure out. We help our booked couples not as an additional fee or as some marketing upsell. We have worked with a lot of brides and can just help from the vast experience.
To illustrate, when it is a small wedding most often people have not been using venues. The big one then is to figure out where they will do their ceremony. At Twin Lakes we have heard it said by someone that they will need to hike in 2 miles. While we are all for a little adventure often that has not been the dream of most brides to earn a badge on their wedding day. Often we do places that look like a hike but are more like 200 feet. Either way people get this information from somewhere online. Really for a place like Twin Lakes I am not sure how you could hike 2 miles so it must be someone trying to upsell some experience to charge you more?
As for this micro wedding with Austin and Ashley there were no long hikes. We helped pick out the place and reduce the finding the perfect spot the day they flew in from Texas. We also helped them simplify the day logistically which helped save time and get more images after edits. The result was they they had a ton. In the initial wish list for this blog there were 170 picked out but we have thankfully reduced it. For perspective what we put on blogs are a small sampling of the images. Cautionary point of advice – watch out if you find a photographer than lists an image count or minimum number of images. It is an odd trend that does not make sense as the number of images will depend on the day, the couples emotion, and how long you have to shoot. They just had a lot of variety they brought paired up with some creative posing directions. Give us a beautiful day and what more could you ask for in a wedding?
