The fall in Colorado can be beautiful.  The colors can be dynamic when at their peak of change. Add to that the snow starting to come in with cool air. When rain comes that really means dusted snow on the above tree line mountains. Put that all together with a lake and this is the conditions for this shoot. It is not to say that we do not love other times of year but this one is a narrow window of it looking this way. Twin Lakes was gorgeous on this fall day.

We are always trying to improve how we do proposals.  In this case we got a little closer but more hidden.  This allowed for getting the tight and wider shots with less movement. While the angle was good the guy was off from the spot a bit.  We believe he put some kind of video at the spot he was supposed to be per the plan. After an emotional proposal they walked over to pop open the bottle of champagne left for them. All the while these candid photos are being taken of moments that cannot be replaced.

We took a bunch of photos afterward in an engagement session style manner.  With the coaching we offer to guys it makes it so that these can potentially serve as a dual purpose proposal + engagement photos for something like save the dates.  Really that all is outside of our control.  We can just share how to make something work based on extensive experiences. The idea is you see what works and what women have said and we can fold that up into ideas for guys. The result are photos like what you see in our blogs.
