Proposal Twin Lakes | August
Twin Lakes Summer Proposal in ColoradoProposal Details:
It is easy to see she said YES to the proposal at Twin Lakes. For Thomas and Sarah they had gone to a wedding in Vail the day before the engagement. He was interested in the Maroon Bells as they were going to be doing a drive through Aspen. We told him about what the Maroon Bells was really like and it lived up to those expectations. They went earlier in the day and relayed that it was crazy busy and rather commercialized. Years ago it was certainly better and those photos are still out there but just because you see a photo doesn’t mean that is the reality today. It is not the most cliche place in Colorado to propose but it is certainly in the top 5 touristy places.
We dive a little deeper on this one as guys have not proposed typically more than once or twice. Such that they do not know the collective thoughts of a 1000 women. While most women will be happy to just get engaged in a pretty location most are thinking something beautiful and secluded. Secluded means no busload of people to a roped off trail for sure but really has far wider implications. For example, the candid photos would be cut short. Look above and below at the photos and just know that likely would not occur as people would cheer and interfere with the moment. In seclusion being truly hidden we get tons of raw real candid emotion. Quite frankly the initial reaction is good but the stuff that follows afterward is far better. This is just the option of one who has personally photographed more proposals then – well I am not sure how big proposals are elsewhere as its a niche. Maybe someone in New York City?
Following the proposal we took some other photos around Twin Lakes. With the lighting and the lenses used the background had this painting like feeling. Almost this drop a backdrop in kind of feel. No this was not in a studio or photoshopped but the real thing. The green dress was quite a fun look. We hear at times women saying they wish they had something white on but really I think red has been a good contrasting look to the nature. Overall clothing is a thing to keep in balance. The one thing we can say there is that you do not always need to go ‘hiking’ to get her somewhere looking good. One perk of doing this a lot is we know what can work to get her looking good for photos.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at Twin Lakes.
