Proposal at Brainard Lake in the SummerProposal Details:

A proposal is traditionally the main task for a guy when it comes to weddings.  It is not to say this is a hard and fast rule or that guys are not involved in wedding planning.  It’s one of those things you want to get right.  Making it special is a bit of an art cause you generally want it to be a surprise.  How to take all the thoughts out there and make it unique can be a challenge. This is where we come in to add some value.  We take all the excessive experience of seeing engagements and hearing ones take on a proposal.  We figure out what will balance what works for the couple with what we do.  We have called this proposal consultant type work but really it’s just doing what we love.  It is a challenging thing to get the real candid reaction to a proposal with little to no control on the day of the shoot. The way we do things works when the guy embraces the vision.

The result is that at places like Brainard Lake you get gorgeous photos. The mountain backdrop makes it fairly easy.  Some things like getting in the water is a little harder as most photographers likely are not a fan of getting wet. It’s refreshing but certainly risky.  The risk to reward is worth it if there is a proper water level.
