Functional Dusk Proposal near Sapphire PointProposal Details:
There are a lot of opinions on what is the Golden Hour. It is commonly referenced as the hour leading up to sunset but the reality is that the mountain topography changes this for Colorado. We go into this a bit more in this Colorado Sunrise and Sunset blog. This shoot was at the functional dusk timeframe which has a higher risk and reward. The reward is the orange golden look in the clear sky. The risk is it being too low of light to get good image quality if its not clear skies. Things could also look really flat and nothing show up in the sky. From a lighting perspective it is super easy to shoot in as the lighting is all neutral.
Sapphire Point can be a gorgeous place to do engagement photos. In this case it was a proposal followed by some photos afterward. While they missed the planned spot the perk of this place we use is that it is forgiving as one can move with enough time. So its not the planned angle but we thought it was too gorgeous of dusk lighting to now show.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page.
