Ken Caryl Vista Wedgewood Wedding
Spring Snow at Ken Caryl Vista By Wedgewood WeddingsWedding Details:
This was our 3rd time shooting at the venue. Each time has brought us various conditions and different locations for events. As seen in the photo above and the title this one brought a late Spring snow. As you might guess this was not exactly the plan. If you feel anxiety at the thought of snow on your wedding day know that anything is possible but that in May it is less likely in the city. We have gone from 104 degree temps to 45 and snow in a little over an hour. What we have learned is somethings in life you cannot control. It’s then more about what you do with them. As the forecast was for a lot of snow and they were local we tossed out the idea to poach a little wedding time and do some more photos elsewhere on another day up against another shoot. We still got some things and had a little fun in the snow. One last comment on snow is that there was a snowball fight. We do not show it in the blog below but there was a below the belt hit on a certain someone.
We started at the nearby Homewood Suites for some getting ready photos. Their dog was hilarious with the reaction to the bridesmaids on the bed. We wonder if housekeeping will notice? From there we went over to the venue for a first look before the ceremony. They had moved the benches for the ceremony into the middle area and were able to fit everyone inside. In cocktail hour we had a lot of time to get candids. We absolutely love that time as it helps tell the story of how things felt. Couples also really love it cause it is a drink and mingle time. The party was certainly good and lively. Some people seemed to have gotten a little drunk. This has been kinda a trend of the year maybe as people hit things up too hard now that parties are back on the wedding menu?
Ken Caryl Vista had a remodel since we had been there in 2020. The implication of it was that they seemed to abandon the dual wedding potential. They now have offices on the smaller side. Overall we like what they did with things as it gave some chill space for the guys. The staff was great as always. While that might seem like something to be expected we have seen some venues just really messing this up as of late. The kind of thing where you wonder if they actually have ever coordinated a wedding. They were great at Wedgewood and well seasoned pros who adapted well to the variable caused by the snow. If you are looking at one of the Wedgewood venues here are some other weddings we have done at one of the Wedgewood Wedding venues.
