What we love about the Denver Botanic Gardens is that no matter which direction we shoot everything is beautiful.  The goal then is to try to get a more scenic view than another spot.  For Nate and Kristen this was a nice place to stop by before dinner.  As they walked up to the spot you could tell she just saw it as a night out.  The reaction was big and animated.  It was one of those we wish we had on video as there was so much to it.  We love being able to capture candid moments like these.  It is only possible at a distance as otherwise she knows her photo is getting taken.  To do things at a distance you therefore need a crazy amount of zoom to get it.

Another thing we love about proposals is the energy.  There is so much elated joy when things happen and for the first 30 minutes or so afterward.  What you get in camera is this playfulness and raw emotion.  It is something that you cannot fake.  These kind of shoots also make it so that all the other types of photography just feel dull in comparison.  We still love engagements and weddings but one cannot keep that high of a high continually.
