Proposal NCAR | Boulder, CO
Planned Photoshoot with a Proposal at NCARProposal Details:
Sometimes the only way to get her to the spot will be to do a planned photoshoot. For Erik and Angela this got her out of her meeting and to NCAR. There Erik was waiting with their German Shepherd dog ‘Jack’. I put it in ‘ ‘ marks cause we did not get the name spelled out so it might be a different spelling. Either way he was ready for the shoot.
Now we did kinda a little bit of a hybrid where it was the planned photoshoot but one where the photographer was supposedly running late. This kind of thing works when you are taking photos from afar at 300mm. Most photographers do not use prime 300+mm lenses so this wouldn’t really work well to do this style of shoot. As for the spot we have not done many proposals at NCAR but due to some awkward hikers we decided at the last minute to move things down closer to where she was coming from making it so they wouldn’t have someone walk through the proposal.
All this is not really the norm for us but in this case it works particularly at this location with a flat open area. Friends had tossed out the idea that this might go down so she was suspect though she might not have thought anything otherwise. Our take is the only way to overcome friends putting the thoughts in her head is to play that game and do some really romantic things that make her think it will happen so that she will start doubting when the non normal becomes normal. Either way you can see it didn’t impact the emotion. What a great outcome for missing a work meeting!
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at NCAR.
