Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding | Lower Ranch
Summer Wedding at the Lower Ranch of Spruce Mountain RanchWedding Details:
Something we love about wedding days are when the bride and the groom just embrace whatever comes as that cannot squash their joy. Justin and Victoria certainly had a mix of things outside of their control.
We started with them down at Spruce Mountain Ranch for some getting ready photos. Out of the current 5 times we have shot there we have found most people do some level of getting ready somewhere else and then seem to finish things up there. We note this as we often find ourselves arriving before the couple as they are delayed by traffic. The guys were rather chill and the women were plugging through the finishing touches. We love the things a hair designer can do with hair on the wedding day.
We had a first look with her dad before they got into this classic car and made their way to the St Francis of Assisi church in Castle Rock. We are not sure why this is the case but it seems people in this area of Colorado do not know how to drive. We think it comes down to a mix of distracted driving and sudden breaking for no reason other than traffic randomly slowed down earlier in the day for a construction vehicle. Nonetheless there was a parking lot delay on the highway. The impact was low and just made for less photos in the church after the ceremony.
The Reception at the Lower Ranch:
For the reception they were back at Spruce Mountain Ranch. The weather forecast was 60-100% chance of rain so to no surprise there was some rain on them during some couples photos. We were able to sneak out with them for some later when it was supposed to be 100% chance of rain so if you are a meteorologist know you should never list 100% and Colorado.
There was a rehearsed formal dance that made us think perhaps they took some ballroom dancing lessons. The mother son dance was unique but we are not sure how to describe it. As for some other unique things they had honey as parting gifts for their guests and an indoor s’more station. When writing this auto correct changed it to smoke station which would have been unique. For the smokers out there we normally see the cigars come out on Ames Patio by the fire.
Here is the other work on the blog at Spruce Mountain Ranch.
