Della Terra Mountain Chateau Wedding | Estes Park | Fall
Food Truck Wedding Catering is AwesomeWedding Details:
The food must have been pretty epic to lead with that one. Sam and Megan were getting married in Estes Park at the Della Terra Mountain Chateau. As you might guess they had a food truck but before that awesome food was served up they put on some clothes, said some vows, got some photos . . . normal stuff.
Looking back it is not clear how we found out about the special boxer briefs but there were some special groom undies that matched the wedding colors. I guess the thought is if you rip your tux on the dance floor or the party gets really wild you will match all the decor and your suit. Either way there was a ‘This sexy butt belongs to Megan’ on the back. For the comedy of it while football played in the background we got a suit coat and boxer brief shot. Little did we know that we would have more fun later in Rocky Mountain National Park.
We made our way over into the park after a first look. Almost every couple has done one at Della Terra as that is the only reasonable way to get into the RMNP and get photos. We made our way in and got some photos while some video was also taken. Their dog Aspen was able to make it at this point and while we did not get much time with him we were super stoked that he could make it to the wedding. If you are wondering dogs are not allowed in RMNP but they got permission as they were not on a trail. The main idea is they do not want your dog to become an afternoon snack.
Somehow after family had gone there was a showing the custom boxer briefs of which got some passengers in passing cars to honk in appreciation. From there we made our way back to the venue for the ceremony. There were white rose petals covering the bridge and then even more after signing the marriage license when they ran back through the guests throwing them at them.
The appetizers barely made it into the cocktail hour area before people devoured them. As the night progressed on they had a first scoop. Forget cutting the cake they scooped themselves some gelato! As the night went on the panda head from the photobooth ended up going on people while they danced. They had plenty of props and even some custom ones of childhood photos of them both so we think it was not missed from the photobooth.
Della Terra Mountain Chateau Review:
When a wedding coordinator remembers you from 4 years ago it either means you are super memorable, they do not do many weddings, or there is just really personable service provided by people who are really invested in the wedding. We are 99% sure it is the later one because they do a ton of weddings and while we are not cookie cutter we are not memorable in the pink hair kind of way. Anna was the coordinator and named the couple by name that we last worked with together.
For context, there likely was a guesstimate (wow – that is a word) of around 750 weddings since then at the venue and they have multiple staff coordinators. We had shot there about 8 times since then but often had someone else like Pam. Either way when you casually note the couple by their first name it shows a difference as it is more personable. The other thing is consider the fact that they have been there for that long.
Quality places attract quality staff and retain those quality people. We have not talked at all about the venue but it is gorgeous, awesome, consistent, and always improving. It is a favorite place to shoot and we would highly recommend it for your wedding day. They do a lot of weddings but you are not a $ sign, a stat but someone who is celebrating the biggest day of your life with the one you love.
