Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding | Upper Ranch
Spruce Mountain Upper Ranch WeddingWedding Details:
Infectious happiness is how we would describe the day. For Max and Christine in the engagement session there was still a lot of emotion and playfulness but it was amped up even more on the day of the wedding. It might have been that in the morning at sunrise one is not super energetic or more likely it is that as his brother said he has never seen him this happy. The women arrived in their limo mostly ready. While they waited on the dress to arrive they drank mimosas and ate Chick Fila nuggets. When the guys arrive they were 90% ready and had to just relearn how to tie a tie. We did a first look outside and followed it with some couples photos and bridal party photos. Thankfully, we did it then as as the day progressed the wing picked up more. While we would have wished for some sun like in their engagement session we did not get much of it but nonetheless had a good mountain view.
The ceremony soon followed out at Trey’ Vista. There is another ceremony option for the Lakeview Terrace just off the Angus Lake but that seems more geared toward a smaller wedding. The veil kept things lively in the ceremony with it blowing around. There was a box for wine and letters in the ceremony and we think we saw a tear from Max. Cocktail hour then followed and as they had a first look they could get in there after some quick family pictures to be with their guests. In the reception things were rather chill and happy. Dancing was not as big of a thing but that is always going to be the case unless the bride and groom set the party tone by being on the dance floor. As for something more unique there they did the first dances out on the courtyard area.
Spruce Mountain Upper Ranch Review:
We see a lot of venues with the capability to host multiple weddings simultaneously. With most venues what we have found is that you inevitably will encounter the other wedding in some form whether it is a shared parking lot, hearing the party, or being told you are on the wrong side of the imaginary line and need to leave. At Spruce Mountain Ranch there was some kind of event occurring at the lower ranch spot and at the upper ranch there was no indication of anything on the lower side. Everything was super private, spacious, and easy to access. Outside of those things what we love is that the venue has a lot of flexibility. It is extremely well thought out at the Upper Ranch. The ceremony site has arbors that face both ways allowing you to choose the direction you want to face. The trail leading to Trey’s Vista has some privacy for the Bridal party lining up. There are doors to make the bride entrance more grand. If weather is not your friend there is an indoor space perfect for a wedding ceremony with an alternate space for the reception. There is a courtyard for cocktail hour or likely ample room for other places to put it if you were doing everything indoors. The venue has multiple bar areas, convenient access for caterers, and a DJ booth space that is rather kingly. The getting ready area is well thought out with multiple mini salons for getting hair and makeup done. Guys get a very spacious and relaxed place to get ready below the women. We found ourselves asking ‘what is this venue missing’? We heard some mental crickets for a while then thought that the main thing missing was additional lighting in the reception hall. With some chandlers you can add down the middle which would be super awesome but we would also recommend some up lighting around the walls of the reception hall. We were fine as we come prepared for low light situations but not every photographer has our level of lighting equipment and more light will always help with image sharpness but also giving a better feel to the space.
