Proposal Surprise Flight into ColoradoProposal Details:
The beauty of creating a surprise is by mixing what is normal with what is unexpected. For Hunter and Kelsey this was not what you might think from the title. The title implies she came home to find a suitcase packed and then was taken to the airport, blindfolded at the gate, and with noise canceling headphones on for the announcement about the city. While we are not shooting down the idea we think it creates a lot of anticipation unless you do this all the time. Now if you have done this before tapping into her love to travel and not proposed that is another way to create surprise from it. How things went down for them was that she had a friend in the area she flew out to see for a girls weekend. She had just gotten engaged 3 weeks before (Congrats Kelcey!) so we think she had her poker face on big time for this one. They were in Breckenridge doing some shopping and were able to end things in order to go down the road to Sapphire Point to get there at the perfect time. She arrived to find him down at the overlook with red rose petals spread across the snow. The YES came easy as the emotion was quite high. Imagine being in some other state just walking around. The last thing in the mind is that this place is beautiful wish he was here to propose to me right now.
If you like this proposal idea know that it is a hard one to pull off as it requires multiple people, longer distances of travel, and the ability to control some communication. The biggest thing is the friend who can not only get her there dressed all cute with hair / makeup done but then to make it seem normal. Top that off with her having her nails done. There is also the idea of the further you travel the more things that can go wrong. The one you may not realize is how to make her think you are still home and available when you would normally be available.
You can get proposal ideas from reading past blogs and read about how we do proposals on our engagement proposals page. If you like what you see here and are considering using this location here are some of the other shoots we have done at the Sapphire Point Overlook.
