Surprise (+ Diamond Rings) Are AwesomeProposal Details:

We needed to add the + Diamond Rings part as not all surprises would be awesome.  For example, Shannon shaving 90% of her blond hair and leaving a chunk for spiking or Shane getting a dolphin tattoo on his neck.  These are what we would call non awesome type surprises.  For them this one has the epic implications on their lives.  They had just flown into Denver, CO from Florida for the Labor Day weekend.

They had gone up to Brainard Lake which is just inside the Colorado Mountain foothills.  It is a fairly secluded mountain lake area with a gorgeous view.  They got out to the spot. A fishermen had just gotten on the lake so wisely he waited to propose.  They took a couple photos which conveniently got her sunglasses off.  Some women walking down the road who saw the big camera got the hint that something was up.  They were asked by him to take a photo of them.  At which point they start talking about where they are from and if they should get matching dolphin tattoos – just kidding.

Really this was an intentional stall by him.  He was reading the clouds and waiting a moment for the sun to come back out.  They looked off at the lake talking about some flowers and trees if I remember correctly.  When she turned around he was down on one knee.  You could tell it was such a surprise that she took a second to connect what might be happening.  Tears came as indicated by the inner eye wipe as the ring made its appearance.  Making their way to the bench some champagne was cracked open to properly celebrate!

By this point the sun was fully out.  We love what we get to do for work yet there are some couples that make you REALLY love what you do.  This is one of those couples that if you were on the other side of the camera and were not married you would think – I want what they have!  There is such a rich passion and love shared so deeply between them.  You see it in the way they kiss, the way he holds the small of her back, the moments shared . . . so beautiful.

Well there are lots of photos below.  We had some fun with certain ones as there was a slight shift in water levels going higher the past week.  To get the ideal shot we kicked off the sandals, rolled up the pants, and got in the lake.
