If Starbucks can make you a morning person than sunrise is the ideal time to propose in Colorado.  For Raj and Olivia they had just flown in from Texas to avoid a hurricane.  Things were in the planning long before the weather was forecasted so really this was just a nervousness causing thing making them wonder if they could make the trip to Colorado work.  It was sunrise and they got out for an early start with the ‘seize the day’ mentality.  Breakfast was planned later so it was a good motivation to dress up a bit more.  This was the roll out of bed look so as you can tell from the photos it is a good look for them.  It had been a while since he asked her parents for their consent on the marriage.  After he asked her parents had given her the heads up so she knew it was the general direction of things at any point.  After some time passes you stop over analyzing things and just patiently start awaiting the ring to get on the finger.  It was morning so the details might be blurry in my head but the proposal reaction was something like ‘what are you doing?’ Now say that with the about to squeal kind of voice trying to hold down the excitement.  While we could argue she generally saw it coming she really did not seem to see it coming on this trip or at this exact point.  Thankfully she was one who did not go through all his drawers seeing if something was randomly tucked away in there as the ring was there for a little while.  For the proposal itself the ring might have been tucked in a sock or something.  There was a rock between us and them at the spot so we got slightly blocked and could not tell where it was pulled from during the proposal.

Morning in Colorado.  We love you!  We have a strong preference to backlighting a couple with the sun but if the sun were to be in the face we prefer to do that at sunrise when the lighting is softer.  The morning sunrise at Brainard Lake was gorgeous with the orange lighting hitting the trees and the mountains in the background.
