Berthoud Colorado Wedding
Colorado Private Home Front Range WeddingWedding Details:
When your family has some beautiful Colorado property why not have a wedding there and save on the venue costs? For Johnelisa and Shalimar it was on her family land right off of Lake Newell in Berthoud, CO. They had around 200 guests so it was a sizable wedding. They had parking attendants out front directing traffic for parking and shuttling them to around back. For the women they had a trailer for on location mobile salon support. There was a huge tent setup with a mobile dance floor added in the middle. The caterer pulled up their truck to the garage and worked out of it for their catering needs. There was even a mobile bathroom brought in. While you might think talk of trailers and all the setup sounds a bit crazy it was actually rather elegant, functional, and likely practical when considering the cost of 200 guests would be high for a standard venue. Off a lake with great summer weather you could have not asked for a better wedding recipe.
How many weddings do you think have a bride doing pull ups, bridesmaids doing push up, or the couple jumping on a trampoline? All of those were first for us with wedding day celebrations. There were a lot of hawaiian feel kind of things with post cards hanging from a frame by strings to have seating assignments. There was a smoked pig for the dinner as well as some other tropical flavor dishes to be complimented with what appeared to be Hawaiian beer. Attire of guests also had the Hawaiian flare. Can you tell they have spent some time in Hawaii? As for the dad wearing a pink dress in the reception I am sure if that was a way of saying Aloha, hinting at spending some time in the looney bin, or the more likely just a lot of fun personality (which was awesome)! We are still wondering about how they vow to dust buster crumbs off of one another like their parents. We think these these all hopefully communicate the one key theme – it was a good party of the young and the old with a lot of just having fun celebrating making the day their own.
When you make the day your own there is a lot more personality to it. To highlight some less traditional thing there was a groomsmaid, dog ring bearer and bearer bearer. Ever wonder if you could use the work bearer 3 times in once sentence? We believe you can. The cake cutting ended up with the cake being smashed in the face . . . of his boys behind them. If you are reading this and you are planning your wedding know that if you are looking for a day with a lot of personality + party look at less common non-traditional ideas like this wedding day.
