Ten Mile Station Wedding | Breckenridge
Breckenridge Mountain WeddingWedding Details:
When you are used to being on skis and a snowboard at the venue driving up the mountain is a nice change of pace. For David and Abby they were having a destination wedding in Colorado at Ten Mile Station. This is off of Peak 9 by the base of the Falcon Chair at Peak 10. The wedding day was overall fairly chill and less traditional. We love these kind of days as the couple makes it their own. When we got there a lot of the setup was well under way and and Abby was about to hop into the dress. We had a first look up the hill some followed by a few photos around the venue. We got a lot of the normal family photos in pre-ceremony. The ceremony was out on the patio overlooking the mountains. (Brown) David officiated. In reflecting back on the start of their relationship (brown) David seemed in one sense surprised she would want to date a guy with such a great name as David. Yet, (pink) David obviously was a good fit for the family as they were now getting married. As for some other non traditional things there was no official bridal party but rather some siblings. While you might think not having anyone up there works know that having your sister there for when mom pulls your veil out is always a nice thing.
Into the reception there were the normal things of awesome food, toasts, and dancing. We will not have this toast completely accurate but for the dad it was something like ‘Just look out around you and you will see there is a God . . . . but then there is Kansas . . . If Colorado is what heaven is like what does that make Kansas?’ As you might guess he was in support of a gorgeous mountain wedding in Colorado. We have similar views on Kansas but more tainted by the drive through there never being pleasant. For the reception the there was this unique flare to things of vocals by a guest. We did not figure out his relation to everyone but he made for a good kick off to the party. We wrapped up our part of the night with some dancing photos and some night photos under a truly star filled sky.
Ten Mile Station Review:
For weddings in Breckenridge get married at Ten Mile Station. There are other places in Breckenridge, CO but there is something that just fits for doing weddings there. Looking at some other locations and knowing them more from winter use they seem more ski / boarding focused or too small to host a good party. You have rooms downstairs to get ready, shuttles to get your guests up the mountain from the hotels in Breck and a good view for the ceremony patio with a lot of space for cocktail hour. For the wedding they used Hampton Entertainment. They had a great mix of music and a good read on the group to know when to play a given song to keep the party going well. There are differentiators between DJs and hopefully it is not in having quality equipment and not messing up the audio mix, getting feedback, etc. The thing we notice that consistently sets the good DJs apart is their ability to read the group and communicate well with everyone. As you might guess they delivered on that and were an absolute pleasure to work with at the wedding.
