Proposals at mountain overlooks in Colorado are ideal locations for an accessible view with a gorgeous background.  For Johnathan and Natalie it was Valentine’s Day and they were in Colorado Springs on a mini vacation from Texas.  We had been looking for ideal locations in Colorado Springs for some time which is hard because of the topography. High Point Overlook is one of those locations just outside of the Garden of the Gods area.  It is a pull off with a sizable parking lot that overlooks Garden of the Gods, Pikes, Peak, and the front range mountains with some red rocks in there.

It is a good alternative to someone wanting to do Red Rocks up in Denver as you can actually get on the rocks.  They pulled up and hopped out of the truck and were looking around the area.  It was kinda a unique day up there as there was this local high school hang out vibe with some enjoyment of locally grown Cannabis.  They made their way up to the spot up on a rock.  We noticed when planning this out that many people found it very natural to go to this spot for a quick photo.  Up on this spot the plan was to have her on the opposite side where he was standing so as to have her facing the video, allow for the mountain background, and let her hair blow back in the wind.  Regardless of not having the perfect angle it was a high emotion excited moment taking the 4 years of being together to the next step.  There were hands to the face and bending forward and some happy yelps which are all good signs of a YES.  We think upon looking at the video they got up there and he could not find a way to switch sides.  We took some photos afterward in the sunset lighting.  There was this excited playfulness between them which made for us needing to give them less direction.
